Alex has lived in Cottenham for her entire life; she spent the first 20 on Telegraph Street before migrating first to the High Street and eventually settling as far as Woodlark drive where she currently lives with her partner Phill, a local engineer.

She is currently working as a Teaching Assistant at Kings College School in Cambridge which she thoroughly enjoys. Before this she worked at Cottenham Village College as well as several local pubs. In her spare time Alex enjoys cooking, baking and horse riding.

Her first involvement in local politics was as Mayoress of St Ives, where she acted as a consort to her father who was Mayor at the time. It was this experience that encouraged her to become more involved in the local community and she became a parish councillor in August 2012.
