Julie Groves
Julie had been for a number of years the Clerk to Cottenham Parish Council; prior to this she had been involved with a number of children’s clubs and was a strong supporter of many activities within Cottenham, particularly the Family Festivals. She will be sadly missed and our thoughts and condolences on this unexpected loss go to her family.
"Having been chair of Cottenham Parish Council for 18 months, and prior to that Vice Chair for many years I have had a very close working relationship with Julie. I found her very easy to work with, and she has very often sent me in the right direction when I had a query. Equally she was prepared to listen to what I had to say on a given subject, but then in a non confrontational way would say "I think that this is the correct way to go". When we had issues to sort out she would often say "O for goodness sake", but never panicked. She will be sorely missed; it is such a tragedy that she was so young when she passed away."
