Biography
Christine has lived in Cottenham for over 25 years with her husband Simon and together they run businesses related to agriculture, analysis and marketing. Their children, now grown up and living elsewhere in the UK, went to Cottenham’s primary and secondary schools. Christine was involved in running the Toy Library and Busy Bee Play group while they were young.
She first joined the Parish Council in 2011 and since then she has been actively involved in issues related to community facilities, affordable housing, emergency planning, traffic, Parish Council finances, drainage & flooding and was part of the COVID-19 support group.
Since 2021 she has been committed to ensuring the new village hall is used to its full potential and obtained the necessary qualification to become the Designated Premises Supervisor to enable the hall obtain a premises licence. She works with the Bar and Events Working Group to put on bar sessions and events which residents can enjoy – whether they are visiting the Recreation Ground with their families or wanting an evening out with friends.
In her spare time she enjoys walking, swimming, cinema, travelling and encouraging wildlife (particularly bees and other pollinators) on the field on Church Lane which she and Simon own.
