Village Hall bar – get involved!

There’s been a real buzz at the Village Hall bar recently: the Jubilee, family discos, screening sports events such as Wimbledon finals and private events such as weddings. It’s fast becoming the go-to family venue in Cottenham. We’ve already got several events planned for the autumn – see below. The bar and events team consists of members of the Parish Council and other community-minded residents.

As well as providing a valuable meeting place for the community, any profit goes towards subsidising hall hire for Cottenham residents and the cost of running the many amenities at the Recreation Ground such as buildings, grounds maintenance etc.

Without the help of our volunteers we just wouldn’t be able to open. To make sure the load is shared, the team of active bar volunteers needs to expand. Just one shift a month would help so please consider joining us. Don’t worry, take the plunge, it’s fun and a great way of meeting people. The shifts tend to be for 2 – 3 hours and are for the regular Community Bar on Saturday afternoons (2 – 6pm), for specific events or when we supply the bar for private functions. On the job training is given and you will be teamed up with an ‘old hand’.
